Opportunities

What happens just after you share a moment or a glance with a stranger?

What do you do in that short window of opportunity when love may be in the air?

Most likely you both move on, back to your lives, with a new and nagging “what if…” on your mind.

Once upon a time, that very situation happened to Patty. (Ok, maybe more than once, but let’s focus on that one very important, life changing moment.) She was at dinner, with her parents (sheesh!) and saw a handsome man standing at the bar. (And yes, she was listening to every word her parents were saying. Every word.) He was obviously waiting for someone. And when she arrived,  it was extremely obvious that they were meeting for the first time. And after watching them move through the awkward introductions, through drinks and through dinner, it was painfully obvious that dessert was not going to happen.

Fast forward to later in the evening, when Patty called her friend Liz to bitch about the disappointments of dating, or lack thereof. “They had no chemistry–at all–but I still thought he was cute,” said Patty.

“Too bad this isn’t hundreds of years ago, when you could’ve just dropped your Victorian calling card at his table on your way out,” said Liz.

Lightbulb.

A year later, Liz and Patty, both graphic designers, tied the knot between their modern attitude and their Victorian sensibilities and introduced GreenlightCard.com.

That moment, just after you share a moment or a glance with a stranger? That lost window of opportunity when love may be in the air? That nagging “what if…” on your mind?

Let’s put a stop to that right now.
